Ozone (O₃) is a highly reactive form of oxygen consisting of three oxygen atoms, known for its powerful oxidation and disinfection properties in water treatment, wastewater treatment, aquaculture, and industrial applications. Ozone systems operate by converting oxygen (O₂) into ozone (O) using high-voltage electrical discharge, typically through corona discharge technology. In this process, oxygen molecules are split into individual atoms, which then recombine with other oxygen molecules to form ozone gas.

This ozone is immediately injected into water or process streams using efficient mass transfer systems such as venturi injectors, diffusers, or static mixers, ensuring maximum contact with contaminants. Once dissolved, ozone reacts rapidly with organic and inorganic substances, effectively destroying bacteria, viruses, and pathogens while breaking down complex pollutants through advanced oxidation and hydroxyl radical formation.
